FAQs

How does ZCS establish bus routes?

While we make every effort to stop at riders' homes, it is sometimes necessary that we offer "cluster" stops, where one or more families are picked up and/or dropped off at a location along the current routes.

If I elect to have my child(ren) ride the bus, can I have a guest ride home with them?

Full-time families may have their child(ren) ride on any bus at no charge. However, notes of permission must be given to the office at least two school days prior to the requested date(s) if a riding family desires to have their children dropped off at any location other than their scheduled stop, regardless of which route the stop is on. Permission will be granted only if the bus has not reached its rider capacity.

Full-time families may elect to have up to ten guest riders (not families) come home with their children per school year without additional charge, provided a request be submitted to the office at least two school days prior to the requested date(s). The request must include the names of the guest riders, and will only be granted if the bus has not reached its rider capacity.

After the ten guest rider limit has been met, full-time families will be charged the intermittent rider rate per guest family, per ride (the full-time family may seek reimbursement of this fee from the guest family or request that the guest family pay the school directly). Invoicing for guest family fees (to be assessed after the ten guest rider limit has been met) will occur monthly.

Can I elect to have my child(ren) ride the bus on some days, but not on others?

Yes. A part-time schedule can be set up and invoiced accordingly. Contact the school office if you desire part-time service.
