What is the Mountaineer Fund?
The Mountaineer Fund consists of monies raised through the annual giving effort of Zion Christian School. Each year, school families and friends are encouraged to provide a donation to the school to allow us to meet our annual operating expenses, as well as help with building fund needs and to provide for important current opportunities. Mountaineer Fund donations are given “above and beyond” tuition. These gifts are provided by the entire school family; parents, grandparents, current students, faculty and staff, alumni, alumni family members, businesses and other friends of the school.
How does the Mountaineer Fund help?
Christian education costs are very expensive. Therefore, in order for every child to be given opportunity to take part in Christian education, the entire covenant community must assist. Your gift will play a major role in ensuring that this goal is met.
How can I give to the Mountaineer Fund?
Support for The Mountaineer Fund can be provided through a one-time gift or through a commitment to give on a monthly or other regular basis throughout the year. Cash gifts are welcome, made payable to Zion Christian School. However, some donors find it to their advantage to use appreciated securities, real estate, or other items of value for their gifts. Participation is the Key!
Although your personal financial circumstances affect your capability, we are anxious that you participate at any level. Percentage of participation is of greater importance. That's because your tangible commitment to support The Mountaineer Fund will be an encouragement to our faculty and staff and to all who help us strive for excellence in Christian education. Please prayerfully consider how God would have you help support the mission of Zion Christian School.
The 2007-2008 Mountaineer Fund Goal is $285,000
- $235,000 Operating Fund
- $50,000 Building Debt Service
This year, we need assistance with both our operating fund (faculty salaries, school supplies, etc.) as well as continued support of Phase I (land acquisition and school building) of our building program. It should be noted that Phase II (parking and fields) & Phase III (classrooms, gym, etc.) have been funded entirely by donation.
